Fojnica is a small town in Central Bosnia located 56 kilometers northwest of the capital Sarajevo.It has a very interesting history and is surrounded by many spectacular places.
Fojnica is famous for its Holy Spirit Franciscan Monastery which houses an important part of the nation's cultural heritage dating from the Roman Empire,the Middle Ages,the Ottoman Empire,Austro-Hungarian Era to nowadays.
Fojnica lies on two rivers surrounded by heavily forested hills and mountains.The view from the mountains Zec and Vranica is magificent.You can also visit the Prokos lake,Kozice waterfalls and many other fantastic places during the winter as well as during the summer season.
One of the things Fojnica is famous for is spa tourism which is more popular every day because of the new and improved facilities.Visiting Fojnica for health reasons would be an excellent choice but people also come to relax and get rid of the stress.
You can also visit a nearby ski resort.

Fojnica was awarded with a Golden tourist rose as the most hospitable destination in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
EVENTS
We have traditional events such as „Susreti Zija Dizdarević“(a literary festival),“Fojničko ljeto“(a summer festival) but also:
• International taekwondo championship „Fojnica open“ established 13 years ago and held at the beginning of June with more than 40 teams from all over Europe
• International oldtimer fest held in the first weekend of September with many visitors,guests and participants from many European countries
• Brandy festival – organized at the end of September/beginning of October -shows the old way of making rakija ( brandy ) combined with great food and casual atmosphere
• Christmas festival – held throughout Advent until Christmas presenting exhibitions,fairs,concerts and offering warm wine,home-made cakes and lots of fun.
